Each fall, the Fleischaker/Greene Scholars program at Western Kentucky University draws together an interdisciplinary team of junior and senior students to intensively study an aspect of the First Amendment. The program is designed to promote research and understanding of the First Amendment across the WKU community and beyond.
The scholars program is housed in the School of Journalism & Broadcasting and operates with the generous support of Louisville attorneys Jon Fleischaker and Kim Greene.
In 2018, the program is under the direction of Dr. Rich Shumate, an assistant professor in the School of Journalism & Broadcasting, and Dr. David Lee, professor in the Department of History and former WKU provost.
