The May 4 Visitor Center at Kent State serves as both a memorial to those that died on May 4th and a museum about the United State’s political climate at the start of the 1970’s.
The Univesity decided that the Visitor Center was necessary when they realized only 25% of students knew the names of the victims in the Kent State shooting. Now, it is a requirement for all freshman to tour the Center to widen their knowledge about the event.
